Last week, eight filmmakers — four Prince Claus Seed Awardees and four Netherlands Film Academy (Master of Film) graduates — joined 2016 Prince Claus Awardee Apichatpong Weerasethakul for an Exchanges programme exploring new cinematic forms across cultures.
The week opened with the public screening With and Through at the Netherlands Film Academy, where the artists shared their ideas and perspectives with the audience. It was followed by an experimental workshop led by Nduka Mntambo, Head of the Academy’s Master of Film, and a masterclass with Apichatpong. He shared his creative process, emphasising dreaming as central to filmmaking and inviting participants to share their own dreams. The programme concluded at Eye Filmmuseum with the exhibition opening Tilda Swinton – Ongoing and the talk Cinema Copied My Dreams: Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Tilda Swinton in Conversation.
