The graduation film Filho by Tomas Ponsteen (class of 2022, Netherlands Film Academy) has been selected for publication by The New Yorker. The documentary is now available for worldwide viewing on the prestigious platform.
In Filho, Ponsteen explores his position as an adoptee from Brazil. Although he never felt the need to search for his biological mother, recent revelations about abuses in the international adoption system cause him to reconsider.

In 2023, the film was selected for the BlackStar Film Festival in Philadelphia. After the first screening, a producer from The New Yorker expressed interest, leading to a process that has now resulted in publication.
Filho was produced in collaboration with EOdocs.
