On Thursday, 11 December, the BKO (Branch Protocol for Quality Assurance in Research) assessment of the Research Department took place at the Netherlands Film Academy.

The committee was impressed by the conversations and expressed great appreciation for the way research is shaped within the Netherlands Film Academy. The research vision was considered clear and solidly grounded, with a strong greenhouse concept.

The quality of the research and the bottom-up approach were assessed as excellent. The committee also highlighted the impact of the research on education: the research clearly feeds into both the bachelor’s and master’s programmes.

In addition, the committee was positive about the organisation of the Research Department, the collaboration with external partners, and the fact that many lecturers are actively involved in research. Overall, the committee was highly satisfied and awarded the Research Department an overall judgement of excellent.
