During the annual ResearchLabs, Eye Filmmuseum becomes a meeting place for students from academies and universities. Here, they present their own work, view that of others, and engage in discussions about film, imagery and research. As part of this programme, students from the Master of Film and Immersive Media programmes at the Netherlands Film Academy show their work. The ResearchLabs take place on 13 and 14 February 2026 more info
Master of Film – Shadowplay
With Shadowplay, first-year students from the Master of Film invite audiences to pay attention to the quiet forms of resistance that so easily go unnoticed, yet profoundly shape our lives. Inspired by Bresson’s call to make visible what would otherwise remain unseen, these films focus on routines, memories, and inherited structures that determine the rhythms of daily life.

Immersive Media / VR Academy – Dissolved in Transit
For Eye on Art ResearchLabs, third-year Immersive Media students present their work around the theme of the “twilight zone”. In the IJ-Lounge and Project Space, they show Dissolved in Transit: an exhibition where personal research and experimental technology come together. Analogue and digital media merge into stimulating experiences involving VR, projections, interactive installations and stop-motion. In this twilight zone, nothing is finished: identities, realities and movements remain in development and dissolution.
