Rosanne Pel's 'Light as Feathers' nominated for NFF Debut Prize

Published on

'Light as Feathers' - initially developed during Rosanne's study at the Master of Film - has been nominated for the Debut Prize and selected for the Forum of Directors. This event, on Sunday night 30 September, includes a Q&A with Rosanne (Group 2015).

In a far from idyllic rural village in Poland, 15-year-old Eryk lives with his dominant mother, grandmother and demented great-grandmother. His father is not in the picture. While Eryk is used by his mother whenever it suits her, the teenager meanwhile abuses the younger girl next door in this family drama. When it turns out she is pregnant, all parties involved choose to remain silent. The boy’s family is disrupted even further. Despite attempts to regain a grip on life, it turns out there is no escaping the suffocating family dynamics.

'Light as Feathers' recently had its world premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival 2018.
