About The Greenhouse
The Greenhouse is a place for questions and ideas that call for a bit of extra time, space and support to grow. Here, we create opportunities for developing research, creating the right conditions for you to follow your curiosity outside of your daily work and activities at the Academy. With two separate programmes for teachers, staff and students, the Greenhouse helps expand our research community from the bottom up. Our daily practice as filmmakers, students, artists and teachers is one in which we are constantly researching and gaining (practical) knowledge to understand and renew what happens on set, in the classroom or in our studios. This is a space to explore and consolidate that knowledge.
There is no fixed research agenda and the form and approach are up to you. The research you undertake can be artistic, technical, technological, pedagogical or theoretical. It may involve experimentation, reflection or design – or all three combined. You can work alone or with others. Whatever the idea you want to explore, the Greenhouse is here to support your process with advice, expertise and financial resources.
