Gregory Ney
In 2023 Gregory Ney (Luxembourg, 1998) graduates from the Master Composing for Film in Amsterdam. Before these masterstudies, he did his BA in Jazz Arrangement and Composition at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. During this time, he was able to write arrangements for great solists such as Seamus Blake, Alex Sipiagin, Tineke Postma and Humphrey Campbell. Furthermore, he had several arranging masterclasses with none other than Bob Mintzer, Vince Mendoza and John Clayton.
Regarding film music, Gregory composed the scores for several short movies such as Per Persoon (Edward de Jong, 2022), Merhamet (Matthjis Sluijs, 2023), Paul en Paul (Hugo Drechsler, 2023) and Ech hunn dech (Joshua Thil, 2023). Moreover, he was able to gain experience writing music for animation films, commercials and games.
As a saxophone player, Gregory is part of the renowned quartet Saxitude with which he plays over 70 concerts every year. Additionally, he can be heard on the recordings of several film scores and albums. After his graduation, Gregory will move back to Luxembourg to continue his career as a film composer and saxophonist.
