Nika Dundua is a filmmaker, visual artist, and scenographer based in The Hague. Her work explores how history—both past and ongoing—is mediated and visualized, and how these processes shape collective perceptions of trauma and memory. She is drawn to the ways our understanding of events is framed—and often distorted—by media, images, and the narrative systems through which stories are told. Working across film, digital media, and spatial installation, Nika explores how fast-moving images and information blur individual experience, often drowning out the voices of witnesses beneath the spectacle of representation. Moving between fact and fiction, visibility and erasure, she traces the silences within personal and collective memory—treating these gaps as spaces where fiction can recover what has been forgotten or suppressed.

With a background in scenography, Nika graduated from the Master’s program in Interior Architecture (INSIDE) at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. Her recent projects combine 3D scanning, archival research, and filmmaking to develop a method that moves between documentary, performative speculation, and digital archaeology. Her work—rooted in spatial storytelling and experimental moving-image practices—has been presented at Dutch Design Week, SIGN, and other platforms.
