Tala is a Palestinian-grown interdisciplinary designer and artist, instrumentalizing various tools for socio-political recalibration. She is a maker of visual, oral, and written storytelling experiences and investigative frameworks that bring action, emotion, and the collision of bodies in space. She works across mediums such as film, fashion, experience design, and writing. Often, you’ll find her playing basketball while exchanging perspectives wherever she goes. Her latest publication, featured in the 9th issue of Journal Safar on Protest, is an experimental verbal exploration titled How to Produce Freedom from Non-freedom? Her latest poetry is a visually written, visceral sequel named Glory to the Unknown and the Anonymous.

Her practice builds on Producing What We Never Witnessed, Without Reproducing What We Ever Only Lived, initially a kinetic fashion project, reconstructed from settler shirts, exploring freedom through movement in a short experimental film, aiming to mobilize toward a new reality. Her work is exhibited across geographies, living within different transmedial shapes. Most recently, her practice was awarded the Prince Claus Seed Award.
