Lucy Cotter, PhD is an independent writer, curator and trained artist, whose current projects explore the boundaries of the artistic, the curatorial and the theoretical. A regular contributor to journals such as Flash Art, Mousse, Frieze and Third Text, she is currently working on a book entitled Art Knowledge: Between the Known and the Unknown. She was curator of the Dutch Pavilion 57th Venice Biennale 2017 and guest curator of Art&Education's Platform in 2019. Her next exhibition and performance series entitled The Unknown Artist will take place at the Center for Contemporary Art and Culture, Portland, OR in 2020. Formerly director of the Master Artistic Research, Royal Academy of Art, the Hague, she currently lectures at Portland State University and Pacific Northwest College of Art, Portland, OR.
