QUINTEN, A BOY WITH A MEMORY AS A KARAOKE MOVIE MACHINE
A full feature film made without money, without scenario, just love, energy and the entire history of cinema as a reference. An avant-garde approach to modern-day filmmaking, made in collaboration with Paul Groot, art critic and one of the pioneers of pirate art TV in the 80s. The result is an eclectic composition of ideas, including theories about morphic resonance, aphasia and singularity, interwoven in an family drama and the eternal topics of silence & death, love & hate.
SYNOPSIS
Quinten is an exceptional psychological case. He suffers from aphasia, and he has a memory problem. Or problem, it is a great opportunity: his memory is loaded with all the movies he ever saw, and more: he is a walking movie database. This makes him an exceptional person. In the struggle with his ambitious talkative brother he is using the aphasia to fight him. During a stay in Venice they will fulfill the last wish of their mother, but instead of showing brotherly love, their last fight will end in a fatal incident.
