Max Kutschenreuter (he/him) (b. 1991) is a Dutch independent filmmaker, writer and community organizer working both in Amsterdam and Berlin. His work spans from the erotic to fictional and documentary, particularly investigating queer location, spaces and community as places where intimacy can arise.

Interested in foregrounding stories outside of the heteronormative experience; or perhaps rather outside deemed accepted queer stories. At this point his research finds itself looking back at his 8 years in Berlin, the community he found himself in; as a location of queer intimacy besieged by an undermining transition. His work investigates the precarity of queer life, communal experience against an increasingly individualizing society, the importance of housing as a location of encounter, and the alternate understanding of what queer experience is / can be.

Leading questions: How does a community salvage and document itself as a way to meet a destabilizing transition and imbue this event with importance?
