Brigiet van den Berg uses design to clarify, simplify and organise our increasingly complex world. Her practice is build around the concept of research by design and design by research. Where making and thinking are intertwined and continuously respond to each other. Therefore the process and outcome all become part of the work and are valued equally.
Van den Berg uses design thinking and visual strategies to contribute, criticise and reflect. She sees design is a visual space as well as a place for critical thinking. With a background as a book designer, van den Berg adapts these same meticulous skills and qualities to new media.
Clients include among others het Sandberg Instituut, ADE, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Foam Fotografiemuseum, Cinemien, COCNederland, AHK, Lectoraat Kunsteducatie, Het Instituut, No Academy and VPRO.
Van den Berg (Bachelor Graphic Design at HKU (cum laude) and Master of Design at het Sandberg Instituut) is also a regular teacher at ArtEZ and the Breitner Academy (AHK).
