Azouz Abdulazez is a filmmaker, storyteller, and poet who grew up in Syria and lived in a few other places. His practice started with photojournalism and developed into moving images during the Syrian revolution and the subsequent war. This practice left him with lots of footage and stories.

Azouz’s research project “Anamnesis” focuses on the process of forgetting and remembering, optics of exile, and the notion of untranslatability. His method experiments with different media and explores the imaginary lines between modes of filmmaking.
