New Season Master Lectures: Nicolas Pereda - 'Games of representation in hybrid cinema'

donderdag 20 oktober 2016, 19:30 - 22:00 uur

Cinema is a game. Like any game, it has rules that we impose. Those rules create a framework Within that framework we move freely. When we are able to step outside this framework with subtlety and precision, we can be surprised. This process we expands the framework and makes the game more complex. What interests me lies in this expansion.

In this talk Nicolás Pereda will discuss formal games that have expanded his notion of what cinema can be, including ideas about performativity, representation, repetition and variation.
