Who is the stranger, when two strangers meet?

Students make book

In collaboration with guest editor and novelist Maya Rasker, nine of our students made the book Hospitality is not a home, volume #8 of RTRSRCH. The nine students are Yael Assaf, Bogomir Doringer, Igor Kramer, Joep Kuijper, Taatske Pieterson, Claire van der Poel, Kay Schuttel, Sonja Wyss and Sam Yazdanpanna Ardekani. The guest editor is a visiting lecturer.

Over a period of six months the students engaged with the challenge of relating their research questions to the theme of hospitality. Hospitality is not a home will be presented during the Master of Film Graduation Show 2012 in July.

A quotation: "...The dormant volcano is yours to discover. Place your shoes on the doorstep. And look."

RTRSRCH is a publication of the ARTI (Artistic Research, Theory and Innovation) research group at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. It reflects the interests and strategies of the ARTI research group concerning current discourse in practice-based research in the arts, exploring and facilitating processes for creating, sharing and distributing emerging knowledge.
